Tough night at the Howard house

Okay...so I DO NOT sleep very well while Jack is away (I'm hoping to adjust during the year he is overseas or it could be A VERY LONG, SLEEP DEPRIVED YEAR). Jack left yesterday for Gunter-Maxwell AFB Annex in Montgomery...he'll be away until the end of February. Last night started out just like I expected...trouble going to sleep!!

So...I stayed up late watching The Real Housewives of Orange County...that is pretty typical on Tuesday nights. It went off at 11:00 and then the real fun began. I COULD NOT fall asleep!! I think that I looked at the clock around 12:30 and drifted off soon after that.

12:50ish-- poke, poke, poke in my arm...Ryan is awake. I put him in bed with me so that hopefully we can still manage to get some sleep.

20 minutes or so of Ryan tossing, turning, kicking, etc...
SLUMBER

1:35ish--"Mommy, I think I leaked"... this is 4 year old speak for I just peed on your bed. Get up change Ryan and change the sheets.

Back in bed around 2:00.

20 more minutes of Ryan tossing, turning, kicking, etc...
SLUMBER sometime between 2:15 and 2:30.

BOOM....CRASH....BOOM..............STINKIN' THUNDER!!!

Did I mention that Ryan totally flips out when there is thunder???

Reassure Ryan and drift off to sleep sometime before 3:30

4:15ish the loudest (and honestly terrifying) sound against the glass of the bedroom windows. It was howling wind and crashing sheets of rain...it was a terrible noise. Again Ryan flips out!!

More reassuring Ryan (and myself a little...with Jack gone I'm missing that sense of security I usually have when things are a little frightening in the night)...

Sweet slumber again sometime around 5:00 (i think...by this point, who knows).

5:45ish....poke, poke, poke on my arm....Kylee Anne is awake. She crawls into bed creating a mommy sandwich between Mr. and Ms. Kicks-A-Lot!! She actually drifts off rather quickly and everyone sleeps for a few more minutes.

6:15 brings the blaring alarm clock...

Jack, if you're reading this...I really hate that you are already missing out on so much family fun!! Oh...and good news....Ryan was sleeping on your side of the bed:)
