WOW, what a gorgeous Sunday!

Our Memorial Day service was so GORGEOUS this morning that I think every person there was crying. This is a really large military town (the base here employs nearly 25,000 people, both military and civilian) and the church has a lot of military families. It was so very emotional and touching.

While the choir was singing a most beautiful rendition of The Star Spangled Banner, my eyes were drawn to an elderly veteran near the front of the sanctuary. He stood there, tall and PROUD, saluting the flag, as I am sure he had so many times throughout his life. My heart was full...full of patriotism, as well as sincere appreciation for all that has been given in the name of this great land.

The weather here is absolutely fabulous today. We enjoyed some outdoor time while trying out our town's newest Sonic, conveniently located about a mile from our neighborhood. Perfect weather for an outdoor meal and a limeade. PERFECT!
