Mrs. Jackson (Kylee Anne's teacher) had a sweet little gift for the parents as we dropped off our little ones this morning. I was doing fine....feeling a little sad that both of my babies were getting so big...but overall I was doing well. I got to my car and read the poem on the outside of the bag that Mrs. Jackson gave us:
The First Day
I gave you a little wink and smile
As you entered my room today.
For I know how it is to leave
And know your child must stay.
You've been with him for three years now
And have been a loving guide,
But now, alas, the time has come
To leave him at my side.
Just know that as you drive away
And tears down your cheeks may flow
I'll love him as I would my own
And help him learn and grow.
For as a parent, I too know
How quickly the years do pass
And remember when it was my turn
To take my child to class.
So please put your mind at ease
And cry those tears no more
For I will love him and take him in
When you leave him at my door.
I gave you a little wink and smile
As you entered my room today.
For I know how it is to leave
And know your child must stay.
You've been with him for three years now
And have been a loving guide,
But now, alas, the time has come
To leave him at my side.
Just know that as you drive away
And tears down your cheeks may flow
I'll love him as I would my own
And help him learn and grow.
For as a parent, I too know
How quickly the years do pass
And remember when it was my turn
To take my child to class.
So please put your mind at ease
And cry those tears no more
For I will love him and take him in
When you leave him at my door.
Then there were tears!!
It was such a cute gift, though. In the bag was a parent survival kit...kleenex (just in case), single serving of coffee, bath beads, Hershey's Hugs and Kisses, and a cute magnet for the fridge artwork. CUTE IDEA!! If I was still teaching, I would definitely do this!!

Mommy and my babies

This is Kylee Anne after I picked her up from her class. She is making classic Kylee Anne scrunchy face.

WHEW...we survived the first days. Now to get our schedule established. Kylee Anne will go every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Ryan will go every day. Both will be done at noon...so they'll still be home with me too! I can't wait to see what this year has in store for them!!
